Moreton Bay - Cowan Base
Moreton Bay Boat Club is proud of the six "gourmet camping" huts on the beachfront of Moreton Island in the township of Cowan. They are a slice of paradise for our members, whether they choose to walk along the beaches and tracks to observe the scenery, or sit back and relax with friends while watching the sunset.
Moreton Island is amazing and a place you must add to your holiday lists. It suits the kids as they can swim all day, then sit around the campfire at night eating marshmallows. Adults can take walks along the tracks of the secluded island, stroll along the beach, watch the sunset, or simply soak up the sun. If you are there at the right time of year (July to November), you should be lucky enough to spot a few of the 10,000+ humpback whales as they migrate north to the Whitsunday's to give birth, and then from around the end of August, as they travel back down to Antartica with their calves.
