Diving

The MBBC Diving Section consists of five groups:  underwater photography, spear-fishing, social, scuba and underwater hockey.  Trips are arranged to both inside and outside reefs for activities.   Underwater hockey is now one of our international sports and our club teams are formidable opponents both in Australia and overseas.

For information on the Diving Section, please contact Grant Killen on 0432 965 872.

UNDERWATER HOCKEY

What is Underwater Hockey (UWH)?

UWH is a game that is played on the bottom of the pool, thus you require a diving mask, snorkel, fins (flippers) and an UWH stick.   Basically you push the puck along the bottom of the pool and try to push it into the opponent's goal.

UWH is a non-contact, low-impact sport, and does not cause injuries from running, stopping suddenly or being run into.  Let's face it, you can't fall down.  Each game is different.  Each player must overcome the opponent, moving in the water, controlling the puck, and the innate need to breathe.

For more information, please phone MBBC Office on 3203 5188.
